Science Club visits the Farm Show Megan Krick – 11 Every year the Agriculture Science Club takes a trip to the Pennsylvania Farm Show. The club votes if they want to visit the Farm Show or take another trip somewhere else. Mainly every year the club picks to go to the Farm Show. To get to the Farm show, students in the club must sell fruit during the annual fruit sale to care for all the expenses to get to Harrisburg and back. This was the 101st Pennsylvania Farm Show, it started in 1917 but they count the year before as an official year of the Farm Show. It takes place every year in Harrisburg during the second week of January. Ag. Science Students went up on Friday which was the second to last day of the show. Anyone in the club who sold multiple boxes of fruit was able to attend the Farm Show. Students get to go on their own and explore the show for themselves. They could wander through the food court, main hall, or the different animal barns. In the food court they could taste all the wonderful foods there like the famous cheese cubes and milkshakes. In the main hall is where all the main shops are. The students could sample foods and buy new things that are normally not in stores. They could sample things like chips, teas, and different types of meats.
