Press Release Contact: Stephanie Yera, 212-556-1957, [email protected] This press release can be downloaded from www.nytco.com THE NEW YORK TIMES ANNOUNCES 2015 SCHOOLS FOR TOMORROW CONFERENCE Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to Deliver Keynote NEW YORK, June 22, 2015 – The New York Times announces that its annual Schools for Tomorrow conference, which identifies and explores new models for higher education, will take place in New York at TheTimesCenter with an evening reception on Sept. 16 and a full conference day on Sept. 17. Now in its fifth year, the conference will be hosted by David Leonhardt, managing editor of The Times’s The Upshot. At the conference, speakers and delegates will be invited to evaluate and debate the best next steps to improve our current state of higher education and propose new models. Issues the conference will address include, among others: how big data are transforming instruction and enrollment, the future of large state universities, student safety, mental health, the role of sports on campus and improving opportunities for underprivileged students. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will open the conference day on Sept. 17 with a special keynote.
