Gulf of Honduras ● It’s Peten department is located in its north ○ largest of all the departments of Guatemala ○ Capital at Flores ● Volcan Tajumulco ○ Highest point in Guatemala ○ located in the Sierra Madre range ○ Located in the San Marcos department ○ Also is the highest mountain in the Central Americas ● Contains the Polochic river ○ has its mouth at lake IZABAL ● Contains the Dulce river which originates out of LaKE izabal and has its mouth at the city of livingston ● Lake Izabal ○ Largest lake in Guatemala ○ Receives the Polochic river and its main outflow is the Dulce river ○ Drains forms apart of the border for it and Guatemala ● Southern border is bounded by the peak of Cerro El Pital that marks the border of El Salvador ● Highest point is Cerro Las Minas ● Holds the UNSECO
