The Foundation's aim is to raise money for paediatric brain cancer research following the loss of 18-year-old Connor Dawes to brain cancer four years ago. This year the SMJFL celebrated its partnership with the RCD Foundation by holding the inaugural Connors Beanie Round during Round 13 across 25 clubs and 55 suburban venues, with the club community encouraged to wear a RCD Foundation beanie.
