Perhaps stated in this manner the names are not too familiar, but that changes if we speak of Lola, Silvia, Pedro and Rober, the characters that they play in “Un paso adelante.” Since its debut in January 2002, the audience has enthusiastically supported – it has had an average of four million TV viewers – the adventures of these students of the performing arts academy who sing, dance and act in the style of “Fame,” up to the point of turning them into idols. As a result of the success of the series, an album with original songs and cover tracks was placed on the market, and it had a surprising reception. Launched this past November 11, in four weeks it became a top seller, and with the series as a launch pad and backdrop, they placed singles such as “Morenita” or “Sámbame” at the top of the charts.
