ANNE SOUKUP Anne M. Soukup, 89 of Maynard, OH, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Wheeling Hospital. She was born October 11,1925, in Martins Ferry, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Lojas Kowalczyk. Anne was a retired clerk from Loos Pharmacy in St. Clairsville. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, Senior Choir and a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 666 at Maynard and former member of Seton Central School Board. Education was important to Anne, so she obtained her High School Equivalence Certificate at the age of 56 from the Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. In addition to her par­ ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Soukup; a sister, Blanche Spisak; four broth­ ers, Benjamin, Walter, Joseph and j^dward Kowalczyk. Anne is survived by her five daughters, Pam (Perry) Jones of St. Clairsville; Denise (David) Berilla of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Lynne (Edward) Odorizzi of Powell, OH; Leigh (Stanley) Pempek of Fairpoint and Lisa (Chester) Mick of St. Clairsville; a sister, Helen Mihalic of Maynard; grand­ children, Anna (Berilla) Nutter; Scott Hall-Jones; Jenny (Berilla) Egan; Bryan Jones; Joshua Pempek; Lauren Odorizzi; Jessica Pempek; Taylor and Brigee Mick; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Liam and Devin Egan; Casey and Bryan Hall-Jones; Ava, Sarah and , Quinn Nutter and Karis Ann Pempek. Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and again on Friday from Noon until 1:15 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Father Michael Gossett as cele­ brant. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. American Legion Auxiliary Services will be held at 6:45 p.m. and a Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maynard Community Volunteer Fire Department. SOUKUP, Donald Janies “Butchie,” 82, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 1,2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Medical Center in Pitts­ burgh. Pa. He was born at Maynard, Ohio on March 27, 1929 the son of the late Joseph and Annie Applegarth Soukup. Don was a retired Feder­ al Mine Inspector with the Mine Safety and Health Admn., a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church at St. Clairsville, the Saints Club and was an avid golfer. He was a 1947 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and was an active member of the St. Clairsville Alumni Associ­ ation. He attended Indiana University on a football scholarship after which he attended Dennison Univer­ sity. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Virginia Homard, Ruth Serio and Mildred Sabo and 1 broth­ er, Edward J. Soukup. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Taddia Soukup; a daughter, Cyn­ thia (Frank) Jaworski of St. Clairsville; a son, Doug (Kathy) Soukup of St. Clairsville; 1 sister, Dorothy Bozick of Lima, Ohio and his grandchildren, Kevin and Caitlin Jaworski, Trenton and Taryne Soukup. Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Sunday from 2-7 p.m. and at Thoburn United Methodist Church on Mon­ day from I p.m. to time of services at 2 p.m. with Rev. Soukup, 80 of Maynard, Ohio died Wednesday, Feb. 1 1, 2004. He was born July 2, 1923 at Maynard a son of the late Annie and Joseph Soukup. Edward was a retired employ­ ee of Consol, a member of the Maynard United Methodist Church, member and recording secretary of American Legion Post #666 at Maynard and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II having served in Company A, 723rd Railway Operations Battalion in European Theatre. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sis­ ters Virginia Homard and Ruth Serio. She was born Sept. 4. 1913 in Maynard, Ohio, daughter of tfie^fate Trank and Antonia Pecenka. She was a retired box maker with the Cleveland Cap Screw Company. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Soukup; one brother, Jerry Pecenka and two sisters, Rose Kafka and Agnes Pospisil. Martha is survived by one daughter, Barbara Coble and her husband Floyd of Sagamore Hills, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio Interment follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. FLORAJEAN SOULT Florajean Marie (Blum) Soult, 88, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 while in the company of family mem­ bers. She was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on Jan- uary 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Her­ man" Carl and Anna Julia (Wodarczyk) Blum. Florajean was a retired Librarian at Ohio Univer­ sity Eastern, where she worked for 32 years. She was a longtime member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry. She was an avid camper, cruiser, bridge player, quilter, a member of the Big Band 200 Dance Club, and a 1947 graduate of Martins Ferry High School. In addition to her par­ ents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Blum and a sister, Betty Spence. She is survived by her husband, John E. Soult; three daughters, Su Saun­ ders, Harpers Ferry, WV; Salli Nelson, Columbus, OH; Barb Soult, of the home; sister, Lois Baker, Martins Ferry; grand­ daughter, Arne Dietz, Martins Ferry; grandson, K.
