Our organization could not be successful without the continued sup- port of its governing body. In Henrico, we are truly blessed to have a govern- ing body that not only supports the Police Division, but literally stands by our side. This partnership enables us to remain successful in our mission to the citizens of Henrico County and provide a safe place to live, work and raise our families. To stay at the fore- front of law enforcement agencies in the Commonwealth, we must remain committed to providing exemplary customer service to our citizens. As the county continues to grow and flourish we are faced with new chal- lenges and opportunities for change. Both our sworn and civilian person- nel remain dedicated to continuous improvement and best practices in law enforcement. It is apparent that our members truly have that ‘flame of passion’ that burns within a public servant. Members of the unit also coordinated the annual Police Division Memorial Ceremony, honoring our officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. We were privileged to have the St. Paul’s Baptist Church Praise Ensemble sing the opening and closing songs once again during this year’s ceremony. Policy and Accreditation The Policy and Accreditation Unit was tasked with the MS4 Permit for Police Division Maintained Facilities. MS4 is a program by the U.S. Environmen- tal Protection Agency and Virginia De- partment of Environmental Quality to protect surface water quality and elim- ination of non-storm water discharge. The unit is responsible for maintaining policies to include regular inspection and documentation of the Division’s facilities to identify and mitigate poten- tial environmental concerns.
