Lawsuit Targets Nissan and Infiniti Vehicles for Faulty "Phantom Braking"

Lawsuit Targets Nissan and Infiniti Vehicles for Faulty "Phantom Braking" 12.17.2019 Federal Investigation of 2017-18 Nissan Rogues; Other Models Could be Affected Bailey Glasser represents class members against Nissan for defective automatic braking in 2015 or newer Nissan and Infiniti vehicles equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) or Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) systems. Nissan and Infiniti drivers complained their vehicles suddenly braked without visible obstructions in front of the vehicles. In some cases, owners decided to deactivate the AEB for FEB features to prevent unintended activations, therefore leaving those drivers without an important safety feature. On September 10, 2019, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced an investigation into these potential automatic braking defects on the 2017 and 2018 Nissan Rogues. NHTSA reviewed 879 driver complaints of unexpected braking, 15 of which led to a collision. At least seven of those crashes resulted in injuries. Although the NHTSA investigation at present focuses on Nissan Rogues, the automatic braking systems in other Nissan and Infiniti vehicles share similar design and certain componentry and could be subject to the same defect. Bailey Glasser seeks to represent all persons who own or lease a 2015 or newer Nissan or Infiniti vehicle equipped with AEB or FEB systems, including but not limited to the Nissan Rogue, Nissan Rogue Sport, Nissan Murano, Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, Nissan Armada, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Leaf, Nissan Sentra, Infiniti QX30, Infiniti Q50, Infiniti Q60, Infiniti Q70, and Infiniti QX80.
