We'll also visit the many historically significant sites that have influenced modern-day Croatia. There's the UNESCO-listed old town of Dubrovnik, where well-preserved ramparts surround a honeycomb of Renaissance churches, secret courtyards and sumptuous merchants' palaces. Founded by the Romans, Split's famous UNESCO Diocletian's Palace was once the Emperor's retirement home. Today its warren of narrow alleys houses the town's cathedral, while its cavernous cellars are used as art galleries. Adult min age: 13 Itinerary Land Only Start City: Trogir End City: Dubrovnik Land Only Itinerary Day 1 Arrive in Trogir Arrive in Trogir Meals included: Dinner Day 2 Krka National Park We drive to Krka National Park (75 mins) to observe a myriad of lakes and waterfalls. A stony path lined with Aleppo pines gently descends to the Cikola river, then a brief ascent rewards us with views over the park. After a picnic, we'll explore the tiers of ponds bright with yellow water lilies that shimmer below the mighty Skradinski waterfall. Then we head back to Trogir to explore the old town. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Distance covered: 8 km / 5 miles Activity (hours): 3 Day 3 Split-Bol (Brac Island) Transfer to Split with free time to explore the Diocletian's Palace and Romanesque cathedral before taking the ferry to Brac Island. At Skrip, the oldest village on the island, we visit a folk museum and enjoy olive tasting. Then transfer towards Podgazul to start the walk towards the highest peak of the Adriatic coast, Vidova Gora (778m). Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Distance covered: 12 km / 7.5 miles Activity (hours): 4.5 Day 4 Blaca Monastery Visit Blaca Monastery where we'll learn how monks once exported 70,000 litres of wine a year to Venice. Enjoy a swim on Bol's beach before a traditional Peka dinner at a family restaurant. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Distance covered: 5 km / 3 miles Activity (hours): 2.5 Day 5 Dubrovnik via Ston Leaving Brac island, transfer by ferry to Makarska and continue to Ston, with the possibility of visiting the walls of Ston. Stop for a local product tasting and continue towards Dubrovnik where we spend the final three nights. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Day 6 Lopud Island Transfer to Dubrovnik port for the local boat transfer to Lopud, one of the Elaphiti Islands. We'll explore the islands quiet bays, green fields and remains of old churches. We return to Dubrovnik in the afternoon. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch Distance covered: 8 km / 5 miles Activity (hours): 3.5 Day 7 Guided tour of Dubrovnik Take the bus (pay locally) to the old town where a guided tour is included in the morning. In the afternoon free time to walk the city walls, a visit to Lokrum island or head to Srd Hill for fabulous views over Dubrovnik. We enjoy a farewell dinner in the Old Town. Meals included: Breakfast Accommodation Hotels Our 3 star hotel in Trogir is in the old town, run by the Buble family, whose history in the town can be traced over eight centuries. On Brac, our 3 star hotel in Bol, a pretty honey-coloured stone mansion, lies on the harbour front, with all rooms affording sea views. Air- conditioned rooms are guaranteed throughout. In Dubrovnik, we stay in a 4 star hotel on the Lapad peninsula offering superb views. Where a single supplement is available, paying for a single only guarantees a room for single use. It does not always mean a twin or double room will be provided for sole occupancy. ATM Availability ATMs are widely available, but we recommend taking some Euros cash with you in case you can't get to a bank at the start of the trip. Cards are widely accepted. Extra Expenses & Spending Money You will need spending money for meals not included in the itinerary and all drinks. We suggest €25 per day to cover a few drinks if not then €10 per day. On the days where lunch or dinner is not included expect to spend €10-€15 for lunch and €15-€35 for dinner.
