On June 9, Olin Gentry and Thomas Gaines, along with investment banker Tripp Hardy, announced the inception of the Thoroughbred Legends Racing Fund, a sort of uber-racing partnership that aimed to raise substanital funds from high-end investors to buy young horses. Hall of Fame trainers Nick Zito and D. Wayne Lukas, as well as three-time Kentucky Derby winner Bob Baffert, signed up to help select and to train the horses.
