I regret reading this comic.By Adam JonesMy son and I both disliked this book. The art style of the first issue is terribly, non-nonsensical, and ridiculous. The art in the later issues is better characters do not match the style of the early issues. My son's chief complaint was the lack of thought bubbles. This is part of my broader complaint about the storytelling. The issues written and illustrated like movies. This approach has never worked in comics. I would have appreciates some cues to understand what is happening and the monthly release cycles mean the characters have to tell us the whole story each issue. I miss those nice little narrative asides. The story also "hides the ball", keeping readers in the dark to build up suspense. Then the surprise hits and it couldn't be more lackluster. Further sullying this book is the "mature" content. In comics, mature means objectified women and heroes acting like a-holes. Captain America himself comes off as milquetoast, and not the confident, natural leader I knew from my youth. Not only is this is a bad Captain America and the Falcon comic, it is a bad comic in general. They're best friends, teammates, brothers-in-arms - but that bond is tested to the limit when Falcon targets the Rivas drug cartel, and the Super-Sailor known as the "Anti-Cap" sets his sights on Falc! Can Captain America thwart his dark doppelganger before Sam Wilson's wings are clipped? Fingers crossed, because there's a Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing out there, and nobody's better at stopping him than Cap and Falc! But M.O.D.O.K.'s not the only big headache, with the Avengers about to be Disassembled and all. Is this really the best time for Steve to be kissing the Scarlet Witch?
