PROF. BALRAJ CHAUHAN, VICE CHANCELLOR OF DHARMASHASTRA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, JABALPUR, HONOURED AS DISTINGUISHED FACULTY The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Prof. Balraj Chauhan was felicitated as an Illustrious Alumni by the University of Lucknow. The Centennial Celebration Week of University of Lucknow was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji and Deputy Chief Minister Prof. Dinesh Sharma Ji at the Malviya Hall of the University of Lucknow. On the occasion, the University acknowledged the outstanding and profound work and contribution of Prof. Balraj Chauhan to the University and society at large. Prof. Balraj Chauhan is well known in the academia for his special interest in the field of Criminal Law, Criminology and Clinical Legal Education. He has completed several projects funded by the State and other National and International agencies. He is a distinguished scholar and an acclaimed academic in his area of specialisation. He received multiple prestigious fellowships, including the Common Wealth Foundation Fellowship -2011, and the Fellowship of Indian Society of Criminology. He has been associated with the National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science and Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. The University of Lucknow was established on 25th November 1920. Every year on 25th November the University celebrates the Foundation Day. The university completed its 100 years on 25th November 2020. The Centennial Week was commemorated on 19th November 2020 and culminated on 25th November 2020 in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi alongwith Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh alongwith Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath through video conference on November 25 at 5:30 pm. P.M. Shri Narendra Modi also unveiled the University’s Centennial Commemorative Coin and released a special Commemorative Postal Stamp on the occasion. Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Hon’ble Higher Education Minister, Govt. of U.P. Smt. Neelima Katiyar alongwith several other dignitaries also marked their presence. It is a matter of great honour for the University and a golden addition to its list of achievements. While it is one of many, the university takes pride in sharing the same with the world and awaits more of such additions. .
