Infogroup Business Listing File Company location: Omaha, Nebraska Web address: www.infousa.com Description: Esri extracts its business data from a comprehensive list of businesses licensed from Infogroup®. This business list contains data on more than 13 million US businesses— including the business name, location, franchise code, industry classification code, number of employees, and sales volume. Individual businesses are located by address geocoding—not all will have an exact location. The Esri geocoder integrates an address-based approach with more than eighty-one million residential and commercial U.S. address records from the NAVTEQ Point Addressing database. This database maps street addresses to a physical location so each address is a fixed point and not an interpolation from an address range. The geocoder uses address locators in a cascading fallback approach to ensure a match for as many records as possible. The primary locator utilizes the NAVTEQ Point Addressing database. The secondary locator utilizes the NAVTEQ Street Address Range database. Records that did not match fall back to the geocode provided by Infogroup. Businesses can be retrieved by their Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) as well as by North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code and Location. The Infogroup Business File can be used for locating both competitors and marketing opportunities. This data is current as of January 2015. Indexing Code (LOCNUM) – Infogroup ID to identify unique business establishments. Company/Business Name (CONAME) – The name shown is that by which the business is known or under which it conducts its business. Address (ADDR) – Physical address of location. The address field cannot be used for direct mailing purposes. Street (STREET) – The street name of Primary address provided without the street number. City (CITY) – The city name identifies the town or municipality in which the address is situated. The city corresponds to the PO Box Number or the physical address, depending on which type of address is provided. State (STATE) – State abbreviation of location. State Name (STATE_NAME) – Full Name of State. 1 10.3.1 2015 ZIP Code (ZIP) – USPS 5-digit ZIP code assigned to the business address. ZIP plus 4 extension (ZIP4) – USPS ZIP+4 code assigned to the business address. NAICS Code (NAICS) - North American Industry Classification System code. Standard codes are 6 bytes - Infogroup uses a proprietary 8 byte code to increase the accuracy of a match to SIC codes. Field is associated with the primary sic code only. SIC Code (SIC) – This field contains the 6-digit SIC code for the business's primary activity. Approximately 79% of the records in the database have only 1 SIC Code. Sales Volume/Assets ($000) (SALESVOL) – A modeled figure derived from employment size and other factors to indicate the sales volume of the business. ($000s) Business Status (HDBRCH) – The code denoting whether the business is a headquarter, a branch, or a subsidiary headquarter. Franchise Status (FRNCOD) – An additional sub-classification of certain SIC codes used to identify franchise/brand affiliation or professional specialty. Industry Status (ISCODE) – This alpha code is a sub-classification of specific SICs such as number of beds in a hospital. This field is related to the selected SIC only. More detailed descriptions of industry codes are available in this document. Square Footage (SQFTCODE) – Estimated Square Footage the business occupies. USA_AddressPnt, USA_StreetAddr, USA_StreetName; USA_Zipcode. Match Status (STATUS) – M – the record was matched to a locator file; U – the record was unmatched; T – the record was matched to a locator file and multiple match candidates had the same score. Match Score (SCORE) - The match score of the candidate to which the address was matched. The score can be in a range of 0 to 100, where 100 indicates that the candidate is a perfect match.
