AARHUS UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF DENTISTRY AND ORAL HEALTH PhD project: Enzymes for oral health Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, Aarhus University and Novozymes AS. The successful applicant will work in an international environment at Aarhus University and at Novozymes AS, on a 3-year research project exploring the effect of enzymatic treatment on dental biofilm, the oral microbiome, gingivitis and dental caries. Associate professor Sebastian Schlafer, Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, will be the main academic supervisor, with associate professor Rikke L. Meyer, iNANO (the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center), and research scientist Michael Roggenbuck, Novozymes AS, as co-supervisors. Eligible candidates need to have qualifications equal to a Danish Candidate or Master´s degree in Odontology, and be among the top 30 pct. of their graduation class for master’s and bachelor’s study programmes combined. Interest in biofilm research and dental caries is mandatory, as well as proficiency in academic Eng- lish. Applicants with previous research experience will be preferred. The selected candidate and the project will have to be accepted by The Graduate School of Health, Aarhus University, to be able to start the PhD fellowship. Moreo- ver, the candidate needs to be accepted by the Innovation Fund Denmark.
