Atos Origin Wins a New Contract with BP for Transaction Processing Services

PRESS RELEASE Atos Origin wins a new contract with BP for transaction processing services Paris, France - September 20, 2004 – Atos Worldline, an Atos Origin Company dedicated to IT-related BPO, has been awarded the contract for the provision of polling and transaction processing services to BP’s UK service stations. The contract commenced in March 2004 and marks an extension to the services that the Group has delivered to BP since 1993. Since 1993, Atos Worldline’s business activity in the United Kingdom has been processing BP’s cards business, which includes credit, debit, loyalty, fuel and charge cards. Besides technical processing, the IT Group has also been providing manual voucher processing services. The new contract includes the provision of some new services to BP which have been designed and developed to complement the core processing activity : - a web-based application called IPS (Internet Polling Solution) enables BP and its appointed sub-contractors to execute polls and downloads from anywhere where internet access is available - Another web-based application, VTP (Virtual Terminal Processing) enables BP sites to submit manual fallback transactions over the Internet rather than submitting paper vouchers to be key entered. This solution improves process efficiency and cash flow. These new services represent further extensions of Atos Worldline’s growing product range. Robert Mikan, IT Manager Retail at BP, Milton Keynes : ‘Atos Worldline has been managing the complete processing for BP’s cards business very successfully for several years. The services are delivered by professional and helpful people and as a key supplier, they are flexible, responsive and clearly understand our business needs and priorities, particularly the need to provide excellent service to our retailers. As a technology partner, they have demonstrated ability to design, build, implement, host and support solutions to BP’s requirements’. ‘We are delighted to be extending our relationship with BP.
