Access to Experts Nils Gerber Regional Director, Germany & Austria The Conference Board As Regional Director Nils Gerber is responsible for the membership base of The Conference Board in Germany and Austria. The Conference Board counts many leading German companies among its membership including BASF, Bayer, Deutsche Post DHL, Deutsche Telekom, Merck, SAP and Siemens. Nils is responsible to deepen further engagement with the existing members and help recruit additional corporate members. He is part of The Conference Board’s team for Europe, Middle East and Africa and reports to the Executive Director, Business Development, based in Brussels, Belgium. Prior to joining The Conference Board, Nils represented the US State of Georgia and worked for the European office based in Munich, Germany. As Trade Manager he assisted US companies from 2005 to 2014 to export products and services to Europe. In 2014 he became Business Development Manager. In this role his primary objective was identifying and consulting European companies in all aspects of entering or expanding in the United States. As a former Deputy Director of the West Virginia European Office, he gained experience in economic development, transatlantic trade and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Prior to this, Nils served as PR-Consultant in the Energy Sector and Press Officer for the World Exposition EXPO 2000 in his hometown of Hannover, Germany. In addition to being fluent in German and English, Nils is also proficient in French and Norwegian. He holds a Master's degree in European Law from the University of Hannover. As an intern he worked for the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York. For more than one year Nils lived as an exchange student in Norway's capital, Oslo, and traveled extensively throughout Scandinavia. Nils resides in Hannover, Germany. www.conference-board.org.
