Work on the Arrowhead Park cleanup is ongoing and we would like to thank the Highway for providing us a bin. 2. The Arrowhead Ball field has been hit yet again with a plague of Grubs treatment is ongoing. 3. The Toro workman Buggy got a facelift and a new belt. 4. Water is on in the cottages for cleaning purposes and our Park wide and Cottage water tests go out on the 9th of May with a May 24th open date on bathhouse and Cottages as per the shock treatments and 15-day wait from test dates. 5. New Grills for the park have been secured and will be in place soon. 6. Tennis court resurface company was on site for a visit on 5/2/17 and will let us know a week before they arrive. 7. Our hope is to be complete with the siding on the Bath extension by Memorial day for our Parade visitors. Information Office Report of the month April 2017 1. The Inlet Lamp Lighter is still on hold. 2. Balance in Petty Cash on March 31 was $22.70. 3. From April 1, 2017 to April 30, 2017 this office has processed 0 snowmobile permits for the 2017/18 season. During March, this office sold 18 permits for the 2017/18 season at the preseason rate of $65. The Information Office will continue to sell 2017/18 Snowmobile Permits for the preseason rate of $65 each until November 15, 2017. Permits can also be purchased at the Town of Webb Visitor Center and online at OldForgeNY.com. Stickers will be printed some time in September and will be then be mailed to anyone who has purchased one prior to printing. 4. During the 2016 “Arts in the Park,” $3,080 was collected from 36 vendors to reserve 38 ½ spaces in the 2017 show. During December, $730 was collected from 12 vendors to reserve 12 4 spaces in the 2017 Fall Festival. Since January 1st, we have collected an additional $800 from 10 vendors to reserve 10 spaces for “Arts in the Park” and $700 from 10 vendors to reserve 13 spaces at Fall Festival. Applications and a list of vendors signed up can be found at www.inletartsinthepark.com and www.inletfallfestival.com. Keeping track of number of vendors now that insurance is required: Last year/this year on this date “Arts in the Park” 61/46 & Fall Festival 37/22. 5. The IABA will hold their Spring Social on May 10th at Mulligan’s. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres start at 6:00 with a brief meeting around 7:00 and social ends at 9:00. Everyone is welcome – need not be a member. They are currently collecting dues for 2017. You do not have to own a business to become a member of IABA, and you do not have to be a member to participate. Membership dues are only $50/year. Still waiting to hear back from Deputy Hutchins about scheduling another pistol permit class in Inlet soon. 8. The Inlet Youth Commission Egg Hunt and the Adult Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 29th were both successful. The Adult Egg Hunt was again lots of fun. 650 eggs were hidden in Fern Park. Almost 70 people showed up to hunt for them. 219 prizes were given away along with about 800 pieces of candy. Lots of good food was eaten during the covered dish at Screamen Eagle. Looking forward to doing this again next year! Community Pride Day report will be attached next month. 10. Fire & Spice at Seventh Lake House is scheduled for Sunday, May 7th. 11. Pizza Eating Contest at Screamen Eagle was moved to Sunday, May 14th because of renovations taking place. 12. The Great Adirondack Garage Sale is online. If you are planning to have a sale Memorial Day weekend, be sure to add it to the website at www.greatadirondackgaragesale.com. ROOST is giving Inlet 2 banners to promote the event and garage sales that sign up early will get a road sign with the logo to put in their yard. 13. The Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade will be held in Inlet this year! If you want to be in the parade, contact my office or any member of the American Legion Post 1402. 14. June 2nd & 3rd is what is now being called Bikes & Brews Thunder in Old Forge & Inlet. The event is being organized by the businesses participating and Inlet, Eagle Bay, Big Moose and Raquette Lake have joined in. They will keep people informed through the Facebook page, word of mouth, press releases and maybe a few small ads. 15. Mitch will be away for National Trails Day again, so Gary Lee has again volunteered to lead a hike for us that morning. He will hike Beaver Lake in the Moose River Plains. 16. Registration for Black Fly Challenge is open! This race takes place on June 10th and is again going to be limited to the first 1,000 entries. The committee is working on the details of the 5 event, including updating the safety plan and they have the band Showtime booked for the party at the Fern Park finish line. 17. The Town has been awarded $1,000 towards this concert series from the Decentralization Program. There will be an awards ceremony on Sunday, May 7 at Heaven Hill Farm in Lake Placid. Patty will attend this representing the town to accept the award. 19. The Inlet Historical Society has the following programs planned: The Fulton Chain by Charlie Herr on June 22, Eiza Jane Darling on July 6, Neodack by Charlie Herr on August 10, Spring Tout by William “Jay” O’Hern on August 24, Inlet Police by Bruce Caldwell on September 14 – all start at 7:00 p.m. at the Inlet Town Hall with the exception of August 10th which will be part of their Annual Meeting at The Woods Inn. They also have their Inlet Bass Derby scheduled for June 25th and the Inlet Classic Car Cruise & Show will be on July 29th. 20.
