A MESSAGE FROM TTHEHE AFL QUEENSLAND CEO CONTENTS & UMPIRE APPOINTMENTS n behalf of AFL Queensland it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the QWFA CONTENTS ODivision 2, QWFA Division 1 and Bond University QWAFL Grand Final Day. 2 A Message From The AFL Queensland CEO It’s been an incredible year for female football and today’s all-female grand final fixture is a celebration and acknowledgement of what our Queensland football community has 3 Contents & Umpire Appointments achieved. 4 QWFA Division 2 Preview 5 QWFA Division 2 Team Lists AFL Queensland’s investment in female football participation and talent programs over many years, together with the success of our Brisbane Lions AFLW team, has resulted 6 QWFA Division 1 Preview in exponential growth. 7 QWFA Division 1 Team Lists 8 Bond University QWAFL Preview In 2017, 58 new youth girls and women’s club teams have been formed and our Q Schools Cup female competitions have increased by 74 teams to 243 teams. The 9 Bond University QWAFL Team Lists ever-increasing numbers of girls and women playing our game and the huge growth in 10 Bond University QWAFL & QWFA Gallery female clubs is a credit to the entire Queensland football community. 11 Bond University QWAFL & QWFA Finals Results I would like to acknowledge the club volunteers, players, umpires and supporters 12 AFL Queensland Spectator Code of Conduct for your contribution and commitment to this continued growth. Enter the Kedron 1 Ebony Brown 1 Lily Ingram Lions, fresh from a significant 84-point win over Pine Rivers and ready to challenge for the 2 Rebecca Goodwin 2 Madi Scott crown. 3 Holly Thompson 3 Kayla Watling The Lions too, have had a strong season, only dropping two games to the team they’re 4 Kiarna Harris 4 Tali Wickham about to take on for premiership glory. The Cats definitely hold on to bragging rights up to 5 Keeley McClelland 5 Alysa Bachmann this point, also with a victory over Kedron in round two of the finals, to the tune of 44 points. 6 Alicia Finch 6 Felicity Angliss While the Cats could be considered favorites, the Lions are in possession of one of the best 7 Kelsey Mulherin 7 Massa Kesselly offensive weapons going around. Lions forward Julia Mafi, in an incredible 2017 season ,has bagged an impressive 52 goals, more than any other footballer in South East Queensland 8 Mikaela Ellis 8 Aimee English female footy. Should Mafi take to the field in the grand final, she’ll be worthy of some serious 9 Kody Walter-Smith 9 Boonwadee Seesaeng attention from the Broadbeach defenders, who’ll need to be on full alert to stop the Lions 10 Wendy Bristow 9 Genevieve Willis spearhead. 11 Jessica Holmes 10 Annelise Crilly A few goals behind Mafi on the overall table with 28 majors, is Broadbeach goal kicker 12 Meagan Marr 11 Maecyn Barron Wendy Bristow.
