Parents at Lady Barn are most fortunate in the wide choice of highly respected secondary schools available and we aim to help them choose the right school for their child. We believe that by waiting until eleven years of age the children have benefited enormously from our wide curriculum and extra-curricular activities. In addition, at this later stage in their developmental process, a clearer appreciation of the individual child’s ability and needs are in evidence. Thus, parents are able to make a more informed decision as to their child’s future. The academic results reflect enormous credit upon pupils, parents and staff. The foundations are so soundly laid in the Early Years Department. The process is further developed throughout the Infant and Junior sections. All teachers play a significant role in a child’s educational development, but particular reference should be made to Mrs Flynn, Mr Kingdom and Mrs Gibbons, who taught Year Six this year. All three have given unstintingly of their time and effort. The examination outcomes bear witness to their skills as professionals and Lady Barn possesses teachers of this calibre throughout the school. Whilst at this moment we celebrate the achievements of our Year Six children, we must never forget that academic success should not be the sole pursuit of any school and, more specifically, at Lady Barn. Our aim is to enable every child to reach their potential in as many areas as possible and to leave us as confident, courteous, caring young people who are ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
