roni horn kurimanzutto is proud to present Roni Horn’s first solo exhibition in Mexico and at the gallery. The selection of works for this show are proof of Horn’s fluidity in her practice. oct. 27 — dec. 15, 2018 Sculpture and photography reveal many of the questions she has raised throughout her work, such as identity, transformation, opening appearance, visibility and the evocative power of language through the written word. As in her prior expositions, Horn saturday, oct. 27 focuses on the viewer by emphasizing the spatial and 12 — 2 pm conceptual connections between each artwork. Physical space thus becomes a binding force for aesthetic experience. For the show at kurimanzutto, many of the works will address concepts of pairing and doubling that have been explored by the artist through photography, sculpture and drawing. This will allow Mexican audiences to better comprehend the artist’s practice and the importance of her contributions to the history of contemporary art. about the artist Roni Horn (New York, 1955) works with a variety of media including sculpture, photography, drawing, artist’s books. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 1972 to 1975 and then continued her studies at Yale University where she received an MFA in sculpture in 1978. Among the prizes she received include the Sculpture Award from the Sculpture Center, New York in 1998. Roni Horn lives and works in New York. She has had solo shows in numerous public museums and institutions including the Pinakothek Der Moderne, Munich (2018), Fondation Beyeler, Basel (2016), Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona (2014), Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg (2011), Kunsthaus Bregenz, Bregenz (2010), ICA, Boston (2010), Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2009), Tate Modern, London (2009), Reykjavik Art Museum, Reykjavik (2007), Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago (2004), Centre Pompidou, Paris (2003), among an impressive list of solo and group exhibitions.
