315 About the Contributors Muhammet Gul is PhD and has been working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Munzur University, Tunceli, Turkey. He received his MSc in Industrial Engineering from Yildiz Technical University. His research interests are in simulation modeling, healthcare system management, occupational safety and risk assessment, multi-criteria decision-making and fuzzy sets. His papers appeared in International high-cited journals such as Computers & Industrial Engineering, Knowledge-Based Systems, Applied Soft Computing, Journal of Safety Research, Journal of Cleaner Production and Journal of the Operational Research Society. Now, he is the editor in chief of two book projects that will be released in 2020: Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing Applications in Healthcare Management Science (IGI-Global) and Fine–Kinney-based multi-criteria risk assessment: Approaches, Case studies and Python applications (Springer). He will also conduct a new thematic issue in 2021 for a Bentham Science journal Current Chinese Computer Science (CCCS) called as Operations Research/ Management Science in Healthcare: New Methodologies and Applications. Erkan Celik received BSc and MSc degree in Industrial Engineering from Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He also received PhD in Industrial Engineering from Yildiz Technical University, İstanbul, Turkey in 2015. He is now Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering from Munzur University, Tunceli, Turkey. He has published many papers in highly cited journals as Transportation Research Part E, Transportation Research Part A, Computers & Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Production Research, European Journal of Industrial Engineering and etc. His research interests are in decision analysis, humanitarian logistic, fuzzy sets. Now, he is the editor in chief of two book projects that will be released in 2020: Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing Applications in Healthcare Management Science (IGI-Global) and Fine–Kinney-based multi-criteria risk assessment: Approaches, Case studies and Python applications (Springer). About the Contributors Suleyman Mete, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor employed at Industrial Engi- neering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Gaziantep University in Turkey. He received his Ph.D. from Gaziantep University Industrial Engineering in 2017. His research interests include optimization, assembly line balancing, disassembly line balancing, mathematical modelling, heuristics and supply chain network design. Now, he is the editor in chief of two book projects that will be released in 2020: Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing Applications in Healthcare Manage- ment Science (IGI-Global) and Fine–Kinney-based multi-criteria risk assessment: Approaches, Case studies and Python applications (Springer). Faruk Serin, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor employed at Computer Engi- neering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Munzur University in Turkey. He received his Ph.D. from Inonu University Computer Engineering in 2017. His research interests include optimization, graph theory, medical image processing, software development and intelligent transportation. Now, he is the editor in chief of two book projects that will be released in 2020: Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing Applications in Healthcare Management Science (IGI-Global) and Fine–Kinney-based multi-criteria risk assessment: Approaches, Case studies and Python applications (Springer). ***** Abdullah Caliskan is PhD and has currently been working as Assistant Profes- sor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Iskenderun Technical University, Hatay, Turkey. He received B.Sc. degree in June-2011 from the Department of Electrical-Electronic Engineering at Gaziantep University. He received his PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Erciyes University in November, 2017. His research interests include image processing, deep learning and signal processing in biomedical application. Zeynel Abidin Çil is PhD and has been working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Izmir Democracy University, Izmir, Turkey. He received his MSc degree in Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Management from The University of Nottingham, UK, in 2012 and received PhD degree Department of Industrial Engineering from Gaziantep University in 2017. His research interests include integer programming, robotics, manufacturing systems, heuristics and image processing. 316 About the Contributors Sundus Dag is an Assistant Professor in the department of Business Admin- istration, at Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey. She got her MSc and PhD from Istanbul University, Turkey. Her research focus is on operations planning and management and supply chain management. Dr. Dag teaches production systems, advanced quality techniques and six sigma, design of quality systems courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Camila P. E. De Souza is PhD and is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences at Western University, Canada. She was previ- ously a postdoctoral fellow at the Shah Lab for Computational Cancer Biology at the BC Cancer Agency Research Centre. She completed her PhD in Statistics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is originally from Brazil where she received her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Statistics at the University of Campinas. Her main research areas of interest include method development and analysis of genomic data, single-cell sequencing, functional data analysis, latent variable modeling, nonparametric regression, semi-parametric models, machine learning and big data analytics. Hakan Gulmez was born in 1980 in İzmir. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Karşıyaka. He graduated from Ege University Fac- ulty of Medicine in 2004. After graduation, he worked as a physician and manager in primary health care until 2009. In 2009, he started his specialty education in Baskent University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. In 2012, he received the title of Family Medicine Specialist. He was appointed to Konya Hadim State Hospital as an expert doctor within the scope of compulsory service. Between 2012-2017 he worked as a family physician in family health center and other primary and secondary health care institutions. In 2017, he was appointed to Düzce University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine as an as- sistant professor. In 2018, he was appointed as a faculty member to İzmir Democracy University Medical Faculty. He is still working as an assistant professor and vice dean at the Faculty of Medicine of İzmir Democracy University. He is married and has two children. Gülmez has many articles published in national and international scientific journals and papers presented in national and international congresses. 317 About the Contributors Nihan Kabadayı is an Assistant Professor in the department of Business Ad- ministration, at Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey. She got her MSc and PhD from Istanbul University, Turkey. Her research focus is on operations planning and management and supply chain management. Dr. Kabadayı teaches production management, supply chain management, modern production systems, warehouse management, quality improvement techniques, international logistics management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Rasha Kashef is PhD and is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electri- cal, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2008. She is a professional engineer in Ontario. She worked as Assistant Professor at the school of computing at the AAST institute in 2009-2011. She also worked as a Research Associate at Microsoft Corp. In 2010 she succeeded with her Machine learning research, and she received the “Early Researcher Award.” Her research interests span the use of machine learning in big data analysis in different applications including healthcare, revenue management, and software engineering. She worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the department of applied mathematics at the University of Waterloo from 2011 until 2013. She also joined the department of management science at the University of Waterloo from 2013-2016. she had been hired as an assistant professor at the IVEY business School in Management science group with a focus on Data Analytics from 2016- 2019. Her main research areas include data science, machine learning, big data, IOT, smart systems, operation research, management science, healthcare, autonomous systems, distributed computing. M Manikandakumar is PhD and received the Master degree in Computer Sci- ence and Engineering and pursuing research degree at Anna University, Chennai. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the department of Information Technology, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, India. His research interest includes Security, Internet of Things, Machine Learning and Big Data. Efendi N. Nasibov received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Applied Mathematics Department from Baku State University, Azerbaijan in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Cybernetics (Moscow) and Dr.Sc. in Computer Science degree from Institute of Cybernetics of Academy of Science of Azerbaijan in 1987 and 2003, respectively.
