ii Church of the Epiphany Safe Environment Policy The Safe Environment Policy has been established in keeping with the Scriptural teachings and standards of conduct set by our Lord, Jesus Christ. As Christians, we are called to build each other up, to respect those who instruct and have charge over us in the Lord, to live in peace with one another, to admonish the unruly, to encourage the timid, to help the weak, to be patient with everyone, and to be kind to each other and to everyone else. (see 1 Thessalonians 5:11- 14.) At the Epiphany, we strive to live up to the standards of our Christian calling and we advocate the following as an essential part of that goal. 1. The Church of the Epiphany is committed to ensuring that the values of safety, trust, accountability, and respect are upheld in our relationships and in all of the Church's ministries, activities, work and facilities. To this end, we will make every effort to provide an environment that is free from violence, coercion, disrespect, and prejudice. The Church of the Epiphany will abide by all governmental laws as applicable. 2.
