Adieu to a True Gandhian Inspiring are those who dedicate a lifetime to keep traditional knowledge alive In him lives a spirit, of quiet service, that once existed freely in our politics and our activism, a spirit that has been completely excised from one sphere and remains gravely threatened in the other ~ Ramachandra Guha Anupam Mishra (1948-2016) was a Gandhian, author, journalist, environmentalist, and water conservationist who dedicated his life for promoting water conservation, water management and traditional rainwater harvesting techniques. He passed away in the early hours of 19 December, 2016 in Delhi – our sincere tribute to the visionary. He was born in Wardha, Maharashtra in 1948. Mishra's engagement with the environment came early - his father Bhawani Prasad Mishra, a Gandhian poet-author and environmentalist, was associated with the Anupam Mishra Gandhi Peace Foundation (GPF) since its inception in 1964. After (1948–2016) completing his Master's in Hindi literature from Delhi University in 1969, Mishra decided to follow in his father's footsteps. He worked at the Gandhi Peace Foundation in New Delhi in varying capacities. All his books are considered landmark works in the field of आज भी खरे हℂ तालाब water conservation and free of copyright. ~ Mishra was awarded the 1996 Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar (IGPP) award instituted by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, "My travels made me aware Government of India, the 2007-08 Amar Shaheed Chandrasekhar Azad that our forefathers were far National Award, instituted by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, more aware and educated than Culture Department to "propagate and publicise ideals of freedom we are.
