Each project of the “TPU program” was hence composed of a three main components: a transportation analysis, a real estate analysis and an architectural renewal project. MIC was responsible for the transportation analysis of 6 interchange hubs (Akademicheskaya, Profsoyuznaya, Kaluzhskaya, Belyaevo, Konkovo and Prospect Vernadskogo), which are related to eponymous metro stations and are located in the South-Western part of Moscow with the total area of interventions of 81,8 ha. Our contribution: MIC provided assistance to the development of 6 interchange hub masterplans on mobility related issues verifying the operation of the access system to the developments in relation to the mobility context of the area as well of the wider context, with a particular attention to the traffic conditions on the roads adjacent to the site, to all the different public transport systems planned in the area and the ancillary functions. The mobility masterplan was focused on the definition of the main strategies, including private vehicular access, public transport and pedestrian connectivity. Special emphasis was given to the implementation and revision of the road infrastructure, interchange transport hub dimensioning and layout of the bus terminal, parking and drop off facilities. MIC also outlined a general strategy for the enhancement of the connections among the public transport access points and the master plan pedestrian network.
