Polygonaceae of the Island Iki

Polygonaceae of the Island Iki

Polygonaceae of the island Iki. By Kiichi Ohki. Iki is an island located between Tsusima and Kiusiu. It is considered, equally as the Tsusima, to be the relic of former conti- nent which connected Corea and Japan. No botanist had ever touched this island, though the picturesque landscape of it is renowned among the inhabitants of North-Kiusiu. I have landed on the island last August and collected a lot of plants, especially caring for the Poly- gonaceous plants. The followings are the Polygones found there. I have shown my paper to Prof. NAKAI who was kind enough as to have given many important corrections to it. Gn. i. Polygvnum LINN~:US. Sp. i. Polygonum aviculare LINNIEUS,Sp. P1. ed.
