MEDIA RELEASE 14th August 2015 Queensland Airports Limited welcomes new routes with JETGO Jet Airline Services Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) welcomes regional airline JETGO Australia’s announcement this week that new jet airline services between Townsville, Gold Coast and Rockhampton are to commence 28 September 2015. Queensland Airports Limited is the owner and operator of both Gold Coast and Townsville Airports. Managing Director of Queensland Airports Limited Dennis Chant said QAL is very pleased with the announcement. “Our Business Development and Marketing team have been working closely with JETGO to bring this service to fruition,” Mr Chant said. “This announcement is great news for regional Queensland and we look forward to continuing our partnership with JETGO into the future,” Mr Chant said. The services will be operated by a 36 seat Embraer Regional Jet, offering thrice-weekly return flight services on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays. Flights will depart Townsville at 7:30am arriving Rockhampton at 8:30am before departing at 8:50am and arriving Gold Coast at 9:50am. The return flight will depart Gold Coast at 3:10pm arriving Rockhampton at 4:10pm before departing at 4:30 pm and arriving back in Townsville at 5:30pm. High demand for FIFO charter services between the three locations has been a main contributing factor for the commencement of the new services. JETGO are currently offering a special $99 introductory one way fare for the first month of operation. Usually airfares between Townsville and Rockhampton or Gold Coast start from $193, and Rockhampton to Gold Coast from $115.
