Greg Aplin MP Member for Albury MEDIA RELEASE 30 April 2014 TENDERS CALLED FOR OPERATION OF THE WYMAH FERRY Member for Albury, Greg Aplin is pleased to advise that tenders have been invited this month for the operation of the new Wymah ferry. “Roads and Maritime Services is committed to the operation and maintenance of the Wymah ferry which connects Wymah in New South Wales with Granya in Victoria”, Mr Aplin said. The tender would require the successful applicant to operate the service for three years from 6am to 9pm during daylight saving and from 7am to 8pm outside of those times, starting from July 2014. “The contract for the operation of the Speewa ferry will also be advertised at the same time but the operation of each is a separate contract. “The new Wymah ferry started operting in May last year and since its installation has tripled its patronage. “The new ferry has generated a lot of community interest with locals keen to inspect the vessel. As a consequence the number of users rose from 427 in June 2012 to 858 for the same month last year. “Numbers have since been steady with an average of 30 users per day, peaking in January with 1101 users - the largest number of people ever to use the service in one month” Mr Aplin said. All tenderers must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement. Tender documents may be purchased from https://tenders.nsw.gov.au/rms/?event=public.RFT.list Tenders are to be lodged in the tender box at Reception, Roads and Fleet Services, 56 George Street, Granville, NSW, 2142 and close at 2.30pm on Wednesday 14 May.
