Student/Parent Handbook For the WT GROVER HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Welcome to the WT Grover Hill Elementary School. The staff and I are pleased to have you as a student and will do our best to help make your experience here as enjoyable and successful as you wish to make it. To help provide a safe and productive learning environment for students, staff, parents and visitors, the Board of Education publishes this updated Student/Parent Handbook annually to explain students' rights, responsibilities and consequences for misbehavior. Parents are encouraged to take a few minutes to review and discuss the information in this Handbook with their school-age children. Teachers will also review this Handbook with students at the beginning of the school year. Thank you for taking the time to become familiar with the important information in this Handbook. FOREWORD This Student Handbook was developed to answer many of the commonly asked questions that you and your parents may have during the school year and to provide specific information about certain Board policies and procedures. Please take time to become familiar with the important information contained in this Handbook and keep the Handbook available for frequent reference by you and your parents. If you have any questions that are not addressed in this Handbook, you are encouraged to talk to your teachers or the building principal. This Handbook replaces all prior handbooks and other written material on the same subjects. This Handbook does not equate to an irrevocable contractual commitment to the student, but only reflects the current status of the Board’s policies and the School’s rules as of May 1, 2007. If any of the policies or administrative guidelines referenced herein are revised after May 1, 2007, the language in the most current policy or administrative guideline prevails. Copies of current Board policies and administrative guidelines are available from the building principal and on the District's web site. The Compliance Officer(s) can provide additional information concerning equal access to educational opportunity. © 2007 NEOLA, Inc. 1 SCHOOL DAY 8:10 Students enter if eating breakfast 8:30 Students enter building 8:35 School begins (tardy bell) 3:10 School dismisses for walkers, those being picked up, and Preschool thru 2nd gr. 3:15 School dismisses for 3rd thru 6th gr. It is extremely important for note to be written if a student has a change in their transportation to go home. If we do not have a note stating a specific change in a student pick-up or changing a student riding another bus, that particular student will be going home on their regular bus route. ENTRANCE AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES Students may enter the building for breakfast at 8:10 am. If students are not eating breakfast, they may enter at 8:30 am. On two hour delay days, students may enter the building at 10:30 am.
