Licence No: AL 100014723 1.0 LAND AT CREEDY BRIDGE, CREDITON 1.0 INTRODUCTION This Built Heritage Statement has been researched and prepared by CgMs Consulting on behalf of Greenfields Associates to support a proposed mineral excavation planning application on land at Barton in Fabis, Nottinghamshire (hereafter referred to as ’the Site’). The Site is approximately 82 hectares in extent and is centred on NGR SK 53025 33792 (Figure 1). The Site is understood to have been promoted for allocation for minerals extraction through the Emerging Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan to 2030. There are no designated or non-designated built heritage assets or Registered or Non-Registered Parks and Gardens within the Site, but a number of designated and non-designated heritage assets are located in the vicinity of the Site which may face impact from the proposed development. This includes the Grade II Registered Park and Garden of Clifton Hall, the Grade I listed Clifton Hall itself and several listed Churches. This Built Heritage Statement considers the potential impacts of the proposed development on the historic built environment, with an assessment of all built heritage assets (both designated and non-designated) within the vicinity of the Site which may be impacted by the proposed development. This report addresses the requirement under Paragraph 128 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) for the applicant to explain the significance of the particular heritage assets that may be affected, including consideration Received of their settings, and demonstrate the impact that the proposal will have upon that significance. All archaeological considerations are covered in a separate report prepared NCC 25/07/2017 by CgMs. This report makes reference to the relevant legislative framework contained within the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, as well as national and local planning policy. In addition, relevant Historic England Guidance has been consulted to inform the judgements made. It is further based on the findings of detailed historical research, a site walkover survey and assessment conducted from publicly accessible locations around the Site, map studies and the application of professional judgement.
