The focus for the day is building confidence in an interview situation, thinking about the importance of making a good first impression and interview etiquette. Duration 8.45am to 3.30pm Brief Description What does the opportunity Focus on the Future: Interview and Presentation Skills involve? What will the volunteer do? The Interview and Presentation Skills contributes to preparing Year 6 pupils for life beyond primary school. The day will involve the pupils interviewing volunteers about their jobs and what they involve, as well as being asked questions by the volunteer to experience an interview-style situation. Pupils increase their confidence, presentation skills and awareness of do’s/don’t do’s in professional situations and interviews. The session is lead by the EBP facilitator and comprises lots of smaller activities. Volunteers will work with small groups of children helping them to understand the work and stay on track. What skills are required? Communication and a sense of fun! The EBP facilitator may require organisational help with handing out resources or setting up activities. Otherwise volunteers are encouraged to engage with the children and support them in getting the most out of the day. Training required?
