Junior Tamiko Davis recorded Founded 1970 her sixth double–double of the year with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Kelley Tarver and freshman Amber Nickname Roadrunners Williams also reached double figures, scoring 13 and 12, respectively. Seattle led briefely in the first half but the Colors Blue and Gold Roadrunners controlled the game the rest of the way, building a 22–point lead midway through the second half. National Affiliation NCAA Div. I 50–50 First Time Conference Independent Being a tranistion team, the ’Runners are used to taking on new competion and challenges. SIU–Edwardsville, Arena Icardo Center (3,880) another NCAA Divsion I transitioning team, will be the eighth first–time opponent the Roadrunners will face this President Dr. Horace Mitchell season. On the year, CSUB is 3–4 against sqauds it faced for the first time. Fac. Athletic Rep Dr. Jacqueline Kegley Shoot the Rock Athletic Director Rudy Carvajal Scoring has never been much of an issue for the Roadrunners as they remain among the national leaders in scor- ing offense (75.0). But in the past two games CSUB has twice attempted just 54 field goals, a season low, and BASKETBALL COACHING STAFF have failed to surpass 65 points in back-to-back games for the first time this year. A lot has to do with the double– Head Coach Tim La Kose edged attack of seniors Phynique Allen and Katie Williams. Against Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 17, Allen scored a career–high 29 points but Williams was held to just one point after fouling out midway through the second half. Alma Mater CS Northridge, 1991 The next game against Seattle on Feb. 20, it was Williams who dropped a team–best 19 points but Allen played Record at CSUB 189–70 (8+ yrs) just 10 scoreless minutes after battling early foul trouble. Overall Record 325–137 (16+ yrs) Assistant Coach Greg McCall Turn What Overs Alma Mater CSUB ’95 The past two contests have not quite followed script for the Roadrunners. One of the nation’s top turnover margin Assistant Coach Kristen Dowling teams, CSUB has found itself on the negative end of the turnover battle the past two contests. Still, CSUB holds the impressive distinction of forcing at least 20 opponent turnovers in 22 of 26 games this year. Alma Mater University of Redlands ’06 Assistant Coach Morgan Saso She Stole That Record Alma Mater CSUB ’09 Katie Williams is now the Roadrunners’ single–season steals leader, compiling 93 swipes on the year. A Fresh Record WOMEN’S BASKETBALL INFORMATION The lone true freshman on this season’s squad, Amber Williams, has certainly proven to her teammates that she 2009–10 Record 16–10 belongs on the court. Against Cal State Northridge (1–11–10), Williams set a Roadrunner program record with Home 9–4 eight three pointers, besting Gillian Lillich’s 2003 total of seven. The freshman has emerged as the team’s third– Away/Neutral 7–6 leading scorer (1.0). 2008–09 Record 19–10 Holding 60 Starters Returning/Lost 2/3 CSUB is an impressive 86–0 all time record when holding opponents under 60 points.
