Department of Education annually collects and reports selected information pertaining to pupils enrolled in kindergarten through grade twelve in nonpublic schools in the state. Pupil enrollment and attendance information for nonpublic schools is required by Section 2704, Title 14, Delaware Code. Readers should be aware that tables in this report include out-of-state pupils attending Delaware nonpublic schools, except in those tables specifying Delaware Residents Only in the table heading. Basic procedures employed in the collection of nonpublic data are as follows: Data Collection: All nonpublic schools are required to provide name, gender, race, grade and district of residence for each student enrolled. Private schools are also required to provide summary counts of school staff. Reporting: Computer-generated reports relating to enrollments are prepared for each nonpublic school, for each public school district, and for state use. Sincere appreciation is extended to Delaware’s nonpublic education community for its timely and accurate responses to the department’s requests for information. It is anticipated that reports such as this will provide a useful profile of nonpublic education in Delaware.
