S.N. Aggarwal visited Delhi on 22 and 23rd February, 2014. The members were taken to Chhatarpur temple, Jaindadawari Mehrauli, Qutab Minar, Mughal Garden and Akshardham Temple. Members were felicitated at Deer Park by Maha Mandaleshwar Nityanand Sarawati ji Maharaaj of Haridwar, who delivered a special spiritual discourses particularly on elders how to live with younger generation which was very much appreciated by all present. Gupta, Chairperson, Confederation of Senior Citizens Association of Delhi Confederation supports demands of Pensioners demanded National Commission for Senior Citizens, while addressing Senior Citizens in Annual Day of Sadbhavna Satsang Mandal, DDA Flats Munirka. He told that Confederation has addressed letters to S/Shri. Narendra Modi, Prime Ministrial Candidate of BJP & Chief Minister of Gujrat, Rahul Gandhi, Vice President, Congress Party & Arvind Kejriwal, Convener, Aam Aadmi Party to include following demands of Senior Citizens in their Manifestos to be released before the coming Lok Sabha Elections. The demands include : i. National Commission and State Commissions for senior citizens. ii. Implementation of Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. contd. page-3 Annual Day of SCA - Mehrauli on 9.3.14 Bharat Pension Samaj organised Dharna at Jantar mantar on 24.2.14 to demand removal of inequality, more pension on retirement, 50% Family Pension, Automatic merger of DA with Pension, whenever it goes above 50%, and much more in the interest of Pensioners including better Medical facilities with increase in Fixed Medical Allowance etc. Sh. J.R Gupta, Chairperson, Confederation while addressing audience supported fully the demands of the Pensioners. Sh. S.C. Maheshwari, General Secretary of Bharat Pension Samaj along with other L to R - J.R. Gupta, Parvesh Verma, MLA, Satbir Singh, Pushpa Singh & B.N. Sahni dignitaries including MP Sh. Dental Camp by Jodhana Sr. Citizens Society Jodhpur It is regretted to point out that although, National Policy for Older Persons was notified in 1999 by the Nodal Ministry, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India but its implementation is zero, although a period of more than 15 years has already elapsed. Even the L. R. Garg amended National Policy for Senior Citizens 2011 is still to be implemented. At present, there are 12 crores senior citizens across India and in Delhi alone 11 Lakh. Due to longevity, the population of Senior Citizens are growing day by day but no adequate attention is made by any Government for the welfare of Senior Citizens. Now time has come to force the Govt. to get financial, social & health security to all Senior Citizens. To achieve this goal, we urge all the senior citizens associations across Delhi to strengthen the hands of Confederation of Senior Citizens Associations of Delhi (An umbrella Body of 11 Lakh Senior Citizens) headed by its Chairperson, J.R. Gupta. L. R. Visit to Chokhidhani, Sonipat by SCRC-Shalimar Bagh Installation of 32" TV in Sahyog Varisht Nagrik Manch, Shamimar Bagh, headed by its President R K Nanda Members of Senior Citizens Recreation Center AE Block Shalimar Bagh visited Chokhidhani Sonipat and enjoyed a wonderful picnic . The cheerful smile on the faces of everyone speaks it all. They participated in various cultural and entertaining activities. Some joined the folk dancers on the floor and danced with their partners forgetting all worries and other mental occupations. Ladies got 'Mehandi' artwork done with cheerful smiles, sharing the words 'Age is no barrier'. Ethnic Rajasthani dinner was enjoyed by all, making it a memorable. Birthday Celebrations by SCWF - Rohini Confederation meeting hosted by SCA-Triveni on 16.2.14 The Governing Body Meeting of Confederation was held on 16.2.14 at Triveni, Sheikh Sarai Ph-1, which was hosted by SCA Treveni headed by its President R.C. Sharma & other Executive Body members. A decision was taken to address letters to all the leading Political Parties to include Members of the SCWF Rohini celebrated the birthday of their member Sh. B.L. various demands of Senior Dhar at swaran Jyanti Park Rohini on 08.02.2014. The President Sh. K.L. Citizens in their Manifestos. Khanna gave him birthday greetings letter while Sh. K. C. Malhotra, Vice Meeting ended with lunch. President offered flowers. Secretary Sh. A.P. Parvesh Verma to arrange a 80 years and above. vii. 24 hours help line for senior citizens. viii. 50% concession meeting of our Confederation Members with the President of BJP so that we in rail fare like already extended to female senior citizens.
