Ms MacTIERNAN to the Minister representing the Minister for Transport: With reference to the risk that pedestrians using Victoria Street Railway Station face when crossing the Stirling Highway - (a) when was the design completed for the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Victoria Street with Stirling Highway; (b) why has this important road safety improvement project not been completed yet; and (c) when does the Minister intend that these signals will be installed? Mr OMODEI replied: The Minister for Transport has provided the following response: (a) Late July 1998. (b) Works are programmed on a priority basis with the most hazardous locations being treated first. (c) The installation of traffic signals is scheduled to commence in December 1998 and take approximately three weeks to complete.
