Course Description: This comprehensive hands-on Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery Course is designed to provide an in-depth experience in Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgical skills and techniques. Participants will have the choice of selecting the educational track (Benign or Oncology) that advances their laparoscopic skills and knowledge to support their gynecologic practice. The course features; laparoscopic suturing techniques, gynecologic procedure reviews, discussions, hands-on dry and laparoscopic cadaveric dissection laboratories. During the hands-on laboratory experiences, the instructors will demonstrate the surgical technique and then guide the attendees as they repeat the surgical technique at their laboratory stations. Benign Gynecology Track Overview: This hands-on cadaveric Gynecologic minimally invasive surgery course focuses on benign gynecologic procedures and laparoscopic skill development. The aim of this Course is to enable the participant to perform minimally invasive dissection of gynecologic anatomic structures, to recognize the important anatomic landmarks, and to have an overall topographic knowledge of the pelvic anatomy as it relates to benign gynecologic surgery. Objectives: 1. Describe the pelvic anatomy and appropriate anatomical landmarks as it relates to benign Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery. 2. Identify the retroperitoneal anatomy of the ureter, vessels, and nerves. 3. Apply the appropriate surgical technique and approach utilized in benign Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery. 4. Develop the psychomotor skills needed to efficiently perform laparoscopic suturing and knot tying. 5.
