AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND APPENDIX 1, TRAFFIC REGULATIONS, SECTION 219, STOPPING STANDING AND PARKING PROHIBITED, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SAVANNAH, GEORGIA; TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah, Georgia in regular meeting of Council assembled, and pursuant to lawful authority thereof: SECTION 1: That Section 7-1091 and Section 209 of the Appendix pertaining to stopping, standing and parking prohibitions below be amended with respect to McAuley Drive by deleting “On the north side from Dutchtown Road to Mercy Boulevard” and “On the south side from Mercy Boulevard to Diocese Drive” of Section 209 and the language included below with respect to McAuley Drive be added: Sec. 7-1091. – Stopping, standing and parking prohibited at all times on certain streets. (a) When curbs are painted yellow or signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except momentarily to discharge or pick up a passenger, at any time on any of the streets or parts of streets listed in Section 219 of Appendix I, which is hereby incorporated herein and made a part of this Code by reference, a copy of which shall be maintained on file in the office of the Clerk of Council and in the office of the City Traffic Engineer. (b) It shall be unlawful for the driver of any motor vehicle which weighs in excess of three-fourths ton or exceeds seven feet in height from stopping, standing or parking [sic] such vehicle in any parking area or space on the street listed in Section 220 of Appendix I, which is hereby incorporated herein and made a part of this Code by reference, a copy of which shall be maintained on file in the office of the clerk of council and in the office of the City Traffic Engineer, except at a designated loading zone unless the vehicle is an emergency vehicle as defined by law; a vehicle operated by a public utility; or a vehicle owned by a federal, state or local government. Sec. 219. – Stopping, standing and parking prohibited (see Section 7-1091). Abercorn Street: At the curbs closest to Reynolds and Oglethorpe Squares. At the west curb from Oglethorpe Avenue to York Lane and form Liberty Street to Perry Lane. Between Henry Street and Henry Lane. Between Oglethorpe Avenue and Oglethorpe Avenue Lane on the west side. Between Victory Drive and Stephenson Avenue, both sides. East and west sides, from the south curb of Broughton Street to Broughton Lane, 100 feet to the south. East side, from the south curb of Oglethorpe Avenue and extending for a distance of 95 feet to the south. On the east side from Bolton Street to Gwinnett Street Lane. On the east side from Duffy Street to Anderson Street. On the west side between 41st Street Lane and 42nd Street. West side between Victory Drive and 36th Lane Abercorn Frontage Road: Both sides: Between Mercy Boulevard and the Armstrong Atlantic University campus property line. Between the entrance to Timberland Apartments and the entrance to Moss Gate Apartments. Abercorn West Frontage Road: East side: Beginning at Lewis Drive, thence south for a distance of approximately 1,350 feet. Beginning at Montgomery Crossroad, thence south for a distance of approximately 600 feet. Beginning at the Harmon Canal, thence north for a distance of 320 feet. Between Lewis Drive and the Harmon Canal. Both sides: Beginning approximately 455 feet south of Television Circle, then south for a distance of 200 feet. Between Largo Drive and Mercy Boulevard. Between Tibet Avenue and Magnolia. Abercorn East Frontage Road: East side: Beginning at a point approximately 720 feet south of the Harmon Canal, thence south to Television Circle. Between Montgomery Crossroad and the Harmon Canal. West side: Between Television Circle and Harmon Canal. Both sides: Between Mercy Boulevard and Largo Drive. Between Tibet Avenue and Television Circle. Alice Street: On the south side from a point 42 feet west of Montgomery Street to a point 138 feet west of Montgomery Street. Allison Street: On the south and east sides starting at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and extending to the end of the curve. Alton Street: On both sides of Alton Street from Ann Street to Zubly Street. Amaranth Street: On the south side beginning at the west curb of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and extending approximately 250 feet to the west. Anderson Street: At the south curb within 25 feet of the western property line of Drayton Street. On the north side east of Ogeechee Road beginning at the corner and extending 134 feet. On the north side from Ogeechee Road to 31st Street at the point where Anderson Street meets 31st Street near Skidaway Road. On the south side east of Ogeechee Road beginning at Ogeechee Road and extending east 125 feet. On the south side from a point 80 feet west to of the east curbline of Abercorn Street. On the south side from Paulsen Street to a point 50 west of Vine Street. On the south side from the gateway to Laurel Grove Cemetery to a point 30 feet easterly thereof. On the south side from the westerly curbline of Ogeechee Road to a point 66 feet westerly thereof. On the south side from the western curb of Lincoln Street for a distance of 100 feet westward. On the south side west of Anderson Street beginning at Ogeechee Road and extending west to May Street. Ann Street: On the west side of Ann Street from West Oglethorpe Avenue to Youmans Street. On the east side of Ann Street from West Oglethorpe Avenue north for 60 feet. On the east side of Ann Street from Alton Street south for 60 feet. Apache Avenue: On both sides from Abercorn Extension eastward to the dead end. On both sides from Abercorn Street to Shawnee Street. South of Abercorn Street in southbound direction. Augusta Avenue: On the north side between East Lathrop Avenue and Eagle Street. On the south side from East Lathrop Avenue to Lily Street. Barnard Street: East side from the south curb of Broughton Street extending to Broughton Lane 105 feet to the south. On the west side of Barnard Street beginning at the curbline of Victory Drive and extending 150 feet northward. Basswood Drive: On both sides of Basswood Drive. Bay Street and Bay Street Extension: On the north side of Bay Street from Jefferson Street to the traffic circle. On the north side of Bay Street from the east curbline of East Broad Street to a point 200 feet west thereof. On the south side beginning at a point 110 feet east of Lincoln Street eastward for a distance of 86 feet. On the south side of Bay Street from Montgomery Street to the traffic circle. On the south side of Bay Street from the west curbline of East Broad Street to a point 60 feet west thereof. Bay Street Lane: On the north side from the west curb of Abercorn Street for a distance of 160 feet. On the south side of Houston Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, except at the Savannah Bank drive-in window. Bay Street ramps: On the ramp to Abercorn Street north of Bay Street starting at the westerly end of the southerly retaining wall and extending down such ramp 140 feet on the northerly side and 210 feet on the southerly side of such ramp. On the ramp to Barnard Street north of Bay Street starting at the westerly end of the southerly retaining wall and extending down both sides of such ramp a distance of 212 feet. On the ramp to Bull Street north of Bay Street starting at the easterly end of such ramp where it joins Bay Street and extending down the southerly side of such ramp to a point 40 feet east of City Hall. On the ramp to East Broad Street north of Bay Street starting at the easterly curbline of the roadway around Emmett Park and extending down such ramp 182 feet on both sides. On the ramp to Lincoln Street north of Bay Street starting at the westerly end of the southerly retaining wall and extending down such ramp 108 feet on the northerly side and 294 feet on the southerly side of such ramp. Bee Road: On both sides between Wheaton Street and Victory Drive. On the east and west side from 52nd Street to 51st Street. On the east side starting at the south curbline of Victory Drive and extending 200 fee southward. Ben Kell Road: South side beginning at Coffee Bluff Road and extending 250 feet eastward. Berkley Place: On the north side from Bull Street to Montgomery Street. Berrien Street: On the south side from a point 210 feet west of Selma Street for 105 feet westward. Boyd Street: West side from 56th Street to 57th Street. Broughton Street: North side from the east curb of Abercorn Street and extending for a distance 95 feet to the east. North side from the east curb of Bull Street and extending for a distance of 85 feet to the east. North side from the east curb of Jefferson Street and extending for a distance of 95 feet to the east. North side from the east curb of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and extending for a distance of 65 feet to the east. North side from the west curb of Price Street and extending for a distance of 80 feet to the west.
