Note use of Argentina's first airmail stamps to pay the 18c rate (x5) to Europe via West Africa. CGA to Natal then by fast 'Aviso' from Natal-Dakar, then flown Dakar-Toulouse by Aéropostale. Uncommon destination. Lot# 26 - 19/02/1930 Estimate: £85 NYRBA F/F, Buenos Aires to Miami, no arrival ds, pale blue/grey NYRBA in arrow company cover and printed "Via NYRBA Aerea", addressed to addressed to Miss Eva Grooch (the pilot's sister), franked 10c, 15c airs, canc Aeropostale BA cds, framed Nyrba/Argentina-Estados Unidos flight cachet. Signed by the pilot, WS Grooch. Grooch piloted the plane to Santos where it was damaged whilst landing in heavy seas in the dark.
