Our on-line reservation ticketing system, Dynamic Ticketing Systems, allows us to breakdown the geographic origin of our customers from their credit card information. DTS accounts for 89% of our sales. The remaining 11%, is recorded through our system with Square Register, which we use for walk-up sales. We are currently unable to derive zip code data from Square, so assume it is 100% local. From DTS, we also have a database of over 6,000 customers that we use for marketing purposes. We had 41,115 riders last year, with 36,670 booked through the DTS system, and 4,445 were walk-ups sold through Square. Of the DTS bookings, 31,817 or 86.8% had credit card addresses outside of Ulster County. This compares to 87.2% in 2018. 2020 is trending with similar numbers. Assuming Square is 100% local, 77% of CMRR riders were from outside Ulster County in 2019 and 80% in 2018. We would like to partner with Ulster County so that the customers we bring to Ulster County stay and use services in Kingston and elsewhere in the County while they visit the train. To that end, we would like to schedule a meeting with both of you this fall to put this into action. The railroad has extended its usable track to Stony Hollow, and is requesting an extension to Basin Road so that the train can be used to bring customers to the ART trailhead at West Hurley. With ART’s customer base being 80% local, we believe that connecting the railroad with its predominately non-local customer base to the ART trailead at West Hurley will make the train/trail combination into a regional draw much larger than each attraction is by itself.
