And having 30 million dollars to spend you would believe that they had everything needed to bring put together a film that would have a healthy return on the producers investment, but this film left me unimpressed and bored. Striking Distance Movie Review. The film is interesting, and at times exciting. As luck would have it the murders Tom Hardy was investigating continued on his new beat, Striking Distance rivers of Pittsburgh. Interestingly enough, the only thing the river victims had in common was that they all knew Sgt. Tom Hardy. The story falls Striking Distance early when we see a man jump to his death in a Pittsburgh river and his body is never found. Maybe if the Mississippi flowed through here Striking Distance could buy it. But with the slow-moving nature of the Striking Distance, Monongahela and the Ohio, I felt this was Striking Distance stretch. Old films sometimes acquire unintended baggage. For this Pittsburgher the most enjoyable parts of the plus minutes I spent watching this tale were recognizing the players and remembering some of the good movies and TV shows they stared in. One especially entertaining aspect of the film was the high-speed car chases. As any other Pittsburgher would be able to attestcars appearing to be going 80 mph in areas where there is too much traffic to allow them to hit 30, is not realistic but definitely fun to watch. Native Striking Distance Randy Herrington was given credit Striking Distance blame for directing and being involved in the writing of this piece. Search Our Site Search for:. Title: Striking Distance Tom Hardy Bruce Willis is a maverick cop in pursuit of a sadistic serial killer. Demoted to river patrol after suggesting to the press the killer may be a police officer, he initiates an unauthorized investigation with his new partner Sarah Jessica Parker. Written by AYM Films. I don't understand why this film is so over-looked. It has pretty everything fans of Bruce Willis would want. He is a cop, not liked by his fellow officers, and he is on a murder case where no one believes what he has to say. There is action, swearing, Striking Distance liners, and even some sex. Bruce doesn't usually have that in his films, maybe that is what threw Striking Distance off. Just Kidding. One of the best. Bruce Willis fans should definitely check this movie out. It is pure Bruce and without him the "lone cop" story wouldn't work as well nor be as credible as it is because of him. Looking for something to watch?
