Previous meetings • Burak Yılmaz scored twice as Turkey beat Kazakhstan 3-1 in Istanbul in November; it was their first win in Group A. • Turkey have won all five of their competitive matches against Kazakhstan, scoring 18 goals in the process and conceding just twice. Kazakhstan have yet to survive a half without conceding against Turkey. • The sides are meeting for the second UEFA European Championship qualifying competition in succession, Turkey winning 3-0 in Astana and 2-1 in Istanbul last time out. • Turkey prevailed 6-0 last time they met Kazakhstan in Almaty, during 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying. It remains Kazakhstan's heaviest home defeat. Form guide • Kazakhstan opened their Group A account with a 0-0 draw against Latvia but have lost all four of their subsequent fixtures in the section. • Kazakhstan are without a win in eight competitive games (D2 L6) since a 2-1 home success against the Faroe Islands in a September 2013 World Cup qualifier. • Turkey have not kept a clean sheet in six competitive matches since they beat Estonia 2-0 in their final away fixture of the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign. • Turkey's Group A away record is W0 D2 L1. Trivia and links • This is Kazakhstan's first competitive game in Almaty since a 4-0 loss to England in a World Cup qualifier on 6 June 2009; they have played subsequent home fixtures in the capital, Astana. • Kazakhstan have lost all but one of their meetings with Turkey in UEFA age-group competitions, but can take some heart from the fact that they beat Turkey 2-1 in a UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier in Almaty in June 2005. That is the only win registered by a Kazakh men's side in a UEFA game against a Turkish team. • The only UEFA meeting between the nations' clubs was in the second qualifying round of the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League; Galatasaray AŞ beat FC Tobol Kostanay 2-0 in Istanbul following a 1-1 draw in Kazakhstan. 3 Kazakhstan - Turkey Friday 12 June 2015 - 18.00CET (22.00 local time) Match press kit Almaty Ortalyk Stadion, Almaty Squad list Kazakhstan Current season Qual. He took the Anji helm in 2011, yet stepped down after only two months with the ambitious Dagestan club. • Similarly inconclusive spells in the Kuban and Terek dugouts followed for the former coach of Russia's B national team. • Having struck up a relationship with the Football Federation of Kazakhstan (KFF) the previous year – visiting to watch the Super Cup – Krasnozhan replaced Czech Miroslav Beránek as Kazakhstan boss in February 2014, signing a two-year deal. Fatih Terim Date of birth: 4 September 1953 Nationality: Turkish Playing career: Adana Demirspor, Galatasaray AŞ Coaching career: MKE Ankaragücü, Göztepe AŞ, Turkey Under-21, Turkey (three times), Galatasaray AŞ (three times), ACF Fiorentina, AC Milan • A central defender, Terim represented Galatasaray for over a decade and played 51 games for Turkey, 32 as captain.
