He is currently the tubist in the Wisconsin Brass Quintet, a faculty ensemble-in-residence at the School of Music, and has performed with the Joffrey Ballet, the Chicago Philharmonic, the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra, the Ars Viva Symphony, and many other orchestras. He has also appeared with numerous rock and popular acts, including Foster the People and Chicago-based punk marching band, Mucca Pazza. Curry’s solo playing has been recognized with awards at several international competitions, including the Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments and the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Competition. An advocate for modern music, Curry is currently preparing to release a solo album of contemporary works for tuba. Curry holds a doctor of musical arts degree as well as a master of music degree in tuba performance from Northwestern University. He also earned degrees in tuba performance and communication arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Vincent Fuh, piano Active in the Madison classical and jazz communities since 1983, Vincent Fuh is pianist and writer/arranger for both Madisalsa, a twelve piece Latin jazz and salsa ensemble founded in 1992, and El Clan Destino, a contemporary Afro-Cuban quintet founded in 2004. Crossing genres, he has also performed with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society, the Oakwood Chamber Players, and Sound Ensemble Wisconsin. Since 1997, he has toured extensively with Opera for the Young, an arts outreach organization dedicated to encouraging student participation in fully staged operas at schools throughout the Midwest. He is most recently featured on CDs with Marc Vallon (bassoon), Laura Medisky (oboe), Thomas Pfotenhauer (trumpet), and Charles Tibbets (horn), and joined UW-Madison Professor of Trombone Mark Hetzler in Sinister Resonance, a multi- disciplinary electro-acoustic ensemble, in their newly released CD, They Said..
