But this is precisely the source of its beauty: by the very fact that it is demanding, it builds up the true good of man and allows it to radiate to others.” And so the fruit of marriage, hence why it should be ever renewed by the Holy Spirit. At our Pallottine Parish of St. Isidore the Farmer, one of three shepherded Churches in the Havana Archdiocese, Fr. Lukasz Kluska SAC celebrated the renewal of wedding vows. Ever sweet after a sure life of joys and sorrows, triumphs and tribulations, to repeat the words “I Do” in front of their family- a domestic Church they have made- was a grace for all. May their beautiful testimony of faithful love serve as a beacon for the youth celebrating with them, understanding the sacredness of family life. For this and for their continued mission in marriage, we pray the Holy Father’s prayer to Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love; to you we turn with trust. Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic churches. Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience violence, rejection and division; may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready comfort and healing. Holy Family of Nazareth, make us once more mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Graciously hear our prayer. Amen. In Uruguay’s capital of Montevideo, our own Saint’s educational apostolate at Colegio- Liceo Pallotti is striving for just that; presenting a 5-year ”Project Pastoral Education” program, from 2020-2025. As Pallotti affirms that “each class can cooperate effectively in the realization of the holy purpose, and in the evangelical undertakings of charity and zeal,” the document is the fruit of a 2-year community effort; thus true to Pallottine Spirit. The Project searches to reform and revamp the institution through increased efforts in communication and networking amongst alumni, as well as the offerings of courses on the Christian faith and Pallottine charism. Fr. Jose Gulpio SAC- the school’s General Director- shares that such a written proposal “helps us to have unity, coherence, and a unique dream to share with all.” It’s a transcending dream, one which began in 1937, when the Pallottine Fathers opened the school to respond to the neighborhood’s educational and religious needs. 83 years later, thousands of students- from Kindergarten to High School- have been properly formatted through an integral education, “learning to think rigorously, so as to act rightly and serve humanity better” (St. John Paul II). How important schools are in the lives of the youth, and how formative the role entrusted to educators; even Pope Francis remained in contact with his teacher as Bishop of Buenos Aires. For “without confidence and love,” St. John Bosco says, “there can be no true education.” Information & Photos: Fr. Jose Gulpio SAC PERU Reyser Lalo P. Castro becomes Peru's First Pallottine! VENEZUELA “The Union’s purpose is exclusively the sanctification of its members and the propagation and revival of faith and charity all over the world" (St. Vincent Pallotti) VENEZUELA'S FIRST NATIONAL PALLOTTINE GATHERING! Caracas As it be so, then the instructions of Pallotti are all very simple; “we must always be animated by the spirit of love. We shall treat all with love, look on all with love, think of all with love, and speak with all in love.” For the Lord and St. Vincent do not look upon the greatness of our actions, but by the extent of love with which we do them.Love, then, cannot merely be translated into “verbal” commitments to the Union, or meetings between walls, but rather by the threshold we have crossed to bring Pallotti’s Spirit into the streets. After all, this- as Pope Francis has said- is where the Church belongs. For the first time in Caracas, Venezuela, the animators of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate have organized a 3-day gathering at the Parish of St. John Paul II. This urban Church in modern design is no doubt an inn of the Good Shepherd; it provides food for the hungry, clothes for the poor, and hope for the sorrowful. Likewise, its Pallottine visitors arriving from far-off cities have also made their parishes homes that caress all. Indeed, as St. Vincent says, “the precept of God to love our neighbor as we love ourselves includes to love all souls. Charity demands that we love them with all of our heart.” It’s this, among many things, that Pallotti’s Venezuelan sons and daughters exceptionally excel at, as attested to by Fr. General Jacob during his November visitation; witnessing first-hand incomprehensible situations. “One woman, “ he relayed, “was suffering from cancer and heart problems, and she could do nothing. People die not because they cannot be healed, but for lack of ordinary Caracas medicines: medicines which are either unavailable, or people are too poor to purchase.” Yet despite these trials, when meeting with the many pastoral groups- now together at the Society’s parish in Caracas- “hardly anyone spoke about their hardships or asked for any sort of help. The people were so nice; I was really touched by them.”Our Venezuelan brethren are truly the generous Christians and pious men and women that silently change the course of humanity, whose personal help and sacrifices have penetrated the deepest level of fraternal love towards others. “Through the Union, then,” as St. Vincent would encourage, “no one is excluded from cooperating in the Catholic Apostolate or from participating in its undertakings, merits, and regards.” May God bless you, groups from Caracas, Guarenas, Upata, and our Polish missionary Fathers from Christ the King Province; may your apostolic ministries receive grace evermore! Fr. General Jacob's Message for the Gathering: “Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Pallottine Family, I wish you the blessings of God for your first meeting to learn more about our Founder, St. Vincent Pallotti, and his charism. Our vocation and mission is to live and form others to be apostles of Jesus. I love Venezuela and the people who are so friendly. May you enjoy peace and prosperity.
