GIRL ONE (very warmly). Hi. Glad you could come tonight. (The others wave and ad-lib greetings to the audience.) This evening we're going to present an unusual sort of play for you. BOY TWO ~ I'll say. No set. ~To costumes. GIRL TWO. No plot! GIRL ONE. But plenty of youthful imagination. We're going to dramatize poems and short stories written by teen-agers. We think you1'll have an exciting time. First J let me introduce the actors and actresses 4 ( She introduces each member of the cast by his or her own name~ including herself.) \Vell all playa wide variety of different characters during the evening. Which I by the way t will be about an hour and a half. BOY ONE. Maybe you've heard about the plays, 111 Know I Saw Gypsies" and III Saved a Winter Just for Yau. I' This is the third in that series. Theytre filled with poems and stories written by young men and women in high school t very recently t and were winners in the Southwest High School Creative Writing Awards 4 GIRL ONE. That's a program at New Mexico State University that honors these young people by publishing them in a booklet that goes to more than 500 high schools in seven states every spring. GIRL SIX. But writing that kids do is always so depressing. And angry. GIRL FIVE.
