Inventory of Major Alberta Projects Pipelines Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education June 2012 4th Floor, Commerce Place Edmonton, Alberta T5J 4L6 Inventory of Major Alberta Projects Introduction The Inventory of Major Alberta Projects is produced by Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education to assist firms in identifying potential supply opportunities. The Inventory lists construction projects in Alberta valued at $5 million or greater that are planned, underway or have recently been completed. The report also identifies projects that have been put on hold or deferred. Project data is obtained from public and private information sources. Where possible, this data has been verified with the project proponent/developer; however, users of the Inventory may wish to confirm project data with the proponent/developer. While efforts have been made to obtain the most recent information, it should be noted that projects are being constantly re-evaluated by industry. Although the Inventory attempts to be as comprehensive as possible, some information may not be available at the time of printing, or not published due to reasons of confidentiality. New information as of March 2012: Each quarter, projects that have been on hold for two years or more will be removed from the report. The information will be saved so that if these projects proceed at a future date, they can be included in the Inventory. New information as of June 2012: Prior to this report, if information about the construction dates for a proposed project was known, the dates were shown in the Remarks column (proposed for 20xx). Beginning with the June 2012 report, the construction dates will appear in the Construction Schedule and the word Proposed will be in the Remarks column. The Inventory can be accessed on the Internet at http://www.albertacanada.com/about-alberta/inventory-of-major-projects.html. Later this year (at this point the exact date is unknown) the URL will change to http://www.albertacanada.com/business/statistics-and-publications/inventory-of- major-projects.html. New projects and (where possible) updated information on current projects is added to the Internet database on a monthly basis. The print edition of the report is produced quarterly. New projects added to the Inventory between April 1 and June 30, 2012 are shown in the New Projects table on page (v) and in upper case in the Project Description column in the body of the report. Forty per cent of the 121 new IMAP projects are infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water/sewer, government office buildings, RCMP/police/fire stations, LRT lines and transit centres) valued at $2.7 billion, while another 15 per cent are commercial/retail projects (shopping centres, office towers, warehouses) with a value of $205 million.
