IFl President, Bruce Bohannon tendered his resignation, citing personal reasons, at a Board of Directors meeting held May 8th The Directors unanimously elected Jon Sharp, the current Vice President, to fill Bruce's remaining term, which expires on 15 Dec 1998, effective immediately. Also elected unanimously was David Hoover, who agreed to complete Sharp's term as Vice President which expires this year. Bruce felt that his personal situation prevented him from giving the ongoing development of the NARS series his full attention, and that the next two months were critical to ensure that the planned races are successful. He felt that Formula One would be better served by someone who could give it undivided focus. He will however be racing "Pushy Galore" and has entered Battle Creek. Jon Sharp, on behalf of the Board, thanked him for his almost 5 years of service as President and pledged to continue moving Formula One towards a new level of race promotion while emphasising communication, both internal and external. Jon will take over as point of contact with Steve Kibbe and the NARS Series. He welcomed David Hoover, who is currently serving as a member of the Tech Rules Committee to the Board. With Secretary, Roger Sturgess, Hoover and Sharp will comprise the Executive Committee, responsible for day-to-day operation of IF1.
