Comfort and Care at Norwood Palliative Each year as spring comes around, there is new life breathed into nature around us. There are many stories and fables about this exciting season and one such story is about our Norwood’s Palliative care. The family of Helen, one of the patients there, observed the bunnies sitting right outside their mom’s window. Commenting on it, their mom who was no longer able to get out of bed nodded saying “I see them every day. They remind me of spring”. After their mom had passed away, they were at her home sorting through some items when Linda took a break and sat down outside on the sidewalk, a rabbit all of a sudden came right up beside her and just sat there. It was as if Helen was sending a message to them. It seemed that rabbits were a part of their mom. A symbol of comfort. Something many moms would do. Their mom loved the gardens and outdoors and so they very kindly donated a wonderful sundial so that the patients and families at Norwood Palliative could enjoy the nature, as their mom would have wanted. “We can’t thank you enough for caring for our dear mother and treating her with the upmost of dignity throughout her time with you. You all have such a stressful and critical role both with the patient and the family, we admire everyone’s commitment, empathy and professionalism. It was so comforting to see your staff treating all the patients as if they were their own family, they were ‘real people’ and not just medical professionals. Thank you for enabling our family to be her sons and daughters rather than caregivers as in the past months. It was so important for us to have quality time with her.” Our thanks to the Tomlinson familyMONDAY for allowing JUNE us to 4TH, 2018 - THE LINKS AT SPRUCE GROVE share their mom, Helen Tomlinson’s story. 22ND ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC Presented by 19TH ANNUAL THANK YOU SPONSORS!CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC ESC Automation | Wilmax Construction | The Links | Ernst & Young | Alberta Blue Cross | Sysco Behrends Group | Associated Communications | K-Bro Linen Systems | Handicare | NorQuest College TD Insurance | The Comic Strip | Investors Group | Allwest Commercial Furnishings | Sun Life Financial Veritiv | Belfor Property Restorations | Craving Candy | Espresso Catering by Kirby | Interstate Batteries Wednesday, August 22nd | 5:30PM Stadium PRESENTED BY MONDAY JUNE 4TH, 2018 - THE LINKS AT SPRUCE GROVE Enjoy YARDS & YARDS of food prepared by ND local chefs Steve Buzak, David Omar, Matt Phillips, SAVE with Early 22 ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC Andrew Cowan & Serge Belair at Bird Tickets until June 25th!
