Global Compact Network UK – Register of Members Global Compact Network UK (GCN UK) is a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (08567552). This is a widely used legal structure for not-for profit organisations. Members of the company, while not owners, have control over the Network. Only company members can: Vote at the Network’s annual general meeting on any significant changes to the company and its purpose; Vote for Trustees; Be members of the Network Board and Network Advisory Group. The rules within which we must operate (Companies Act 2006) make a distinction between being a member of the Network and a member of the company. The only cost of being a member of the company is that in the unlikely event that the company is wound up, members may be asked to contribute a token amount of £1 towards any outstanding debts.
