SUNSHINE COAST REGIONAL COUNCIL Arthur Street Pathway Construction ARTHUR STREET PATHWAY CONSTRUCTION Project Description This project involves the construction of an off-road shared pathway along the Energex alignment from the Nicklin Way pathway to the point where the alignment meets the existing Arthur Street pathway. This project will provide a safe off-road passage for cyclists and prevent cyclist/ vehicle conflict. The project connects to existing pathways along Nicklin Way and Arthur Street, providing quicker, safer and more convenient access to the many surrounding facilities. Project works will include 500 metres of 3 metre wide off-road pathway, way-finding signage and solar lighting. This project forms part of the cycle network identified in the South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan. Claymore Road Cycle Link will provide a link for cyclists travelling between residential areas, schools, Sunshine Coast University and the future Sippy Downs Town Centre. The link will extend the regional cycle network from Sippy Downs to Kawana Island and Mooloolaba and connect the south eastern part of Sippy Downs with the Sunshine Coast Motorway. Project works will include 740 metres of 3 metre wide off-road pathway, way-finding signage and solar lighting. This project forms part of the cycle network identified in the South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan. The project is a Principle Cycle Network Coastal Route and the installation of consistent way-finding signage along this route will improve safety and accessibility for cyclists. This project contributes to the cycle network identified in the South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan. The project will complete an essential link between Maroochydore and Kawana connecting to existing pathways and providing greater connectivity for cyclists. Project works will include the redesign of roadway parking, the construction of 340 metres of 3 metre wide off-road pathway, way-finding signage and lighting. In 2008-09 the Cycle Network Program contributed $85,000 funding for the construction of Cotton Tree Parade Maroochydore Cycleway [9152]. This project forms part of the cycle network identified in the South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan. The project will connect to existing facilities along David Low Way and complete a missing link in the cycle network between Bli Bli and Maroochydore. The gap between McDonalds Road and the Fruit and Vegetable Store will be constructed by Council upon resolution of current land acquisition and design issues. Project works will include 2,280 metres of 2.5-3 metre wide off-road shared path, way-finding signage and lighting. In 2010-11 the Cycle Network Program contributed $275,000 funding towards Petrie Creek Road – Stage 1. This project forms part of the cycle network identified in the South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan. The project will complete a missing link in the PCNP and provide improved safety for cyclists. Project works will include 1062 metres of 1.5 – 1.8 metre wide on-road cycle lanes, a pedestrian refuge, intersection treatments, signage and lighting. This project forms part of the cycle network identified in the South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan.
