DIRECTORATE OF INFORMATION & PUBLIC RELATIONS Government of Mizoram Page Links: https://dipr.mizoram.gov.in/post/mizoram-police-press-statement1586247680p MIZORAM POLICE PRESS STATEMENT No.9/2020-2021 Inspector General of Police (Hqrs)-cum-Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO), Mizoram Police Media Cell has issued a Press Statement yesterday, ie.6th April, 2020 as follows : In the aftermath of the unfortunate spread of Covid-19 following the recently held Muslim Conference of Tablighi Jaamat Markaz at Nizamuddin, New Delhi, the Mizoram Police has been on high alert and immediately investigating whether there were any attendee(s) from Mizoram. After careful tracing work, there seems to be no evidence of any Muslims attending the conference from Mizoram till now. At the same time, alongwith the Village Level Task Forces, utmost effort is being made to screen and ensure that no person infected with Covid-19 enters Mizoram. The Mizoram Police is also helping the Assam and Tripura Police to trace out any person(s) who might have attended the Muslim Conference from these two states. For the safety of the public, anybody who might have attended the Conference from Mizoram must report at the nearest Police Station, if possible, by 6:00PM on 7.4.2020 (Tuesday). Failure to do so will be punishable severely under The Disaster ManagementAct 2005 and the Indian Penal Code.
