Unbeknownst to him, he had uncovered one of the most monumental achievements in history. Buried beneath the surface of the land p. 14 were 2,000 life-sized statues, constructed 2,000 years ago, guarding the tomb of their master: China’s first emperor. In the years since their discovery, archaeologists have excavated and researched these warriors—exploring their intricacies, uncovering their histories, and unraveling the secrets that have lain beneath our feet since 210 BCE. After touring the exhibit, the only east coast engagement of a two-city exhibit tour, have lunch at the Franklin Food Works Café. Other eateries are located within walking distance.
